Barbara Walters & Jacqueline Danforth
After finishing her college education, Barbara Walters went to work in a small advertising agency before becoming part of the WNBT-TV. There, she worked on writing press releases and producing a program for children called Ask the Camera. Barbara went on to become a reporter-at-large, where she was able to develop, write, and edit her own interviews and reports. She later became the first female co-host of The Today Show. Though she did not have any biological children, she adopted a daughter whom she named Jacqueline.
Jacqueline’s childhood was not easy, as she skipped school when she was 13. She ran away when she was 15 and later developed a dependence on harmful substances. Walters was busy with her career at the time, which may be why Jacqueline sought comfort in unhealthy habits. Her young adult life was quite different from her adopted mother, but now, he is in a much better place thanks to her mother’s investments in her intervention needs.
