Jean-Claude Van Damme & Kristopher van Varenberg

Jean-Claude Camille Francois Van Damme, also known as JCVD, is a Belgian actor, filmmaker, combat choreographer, and retired martial artist best known for his martial arts action films. A few of his notable action films include Bloodsport (1988), Cyborg (1989), Kickboxer (1989), and Lionheart (1990). When he was ten years old, he started martial arts after his father enrolled him in a Shtkan karate academy. His fighting styles include Shtkan Karate and Kickboxing. At the age of 18, he received his black belt in karate. He began lifting weights to strengthen his physique, ultimately earning the title of Mr. Belgium Bodybuilder.

His son, Kristopher van Varenberg, followed his footsteps to the limelight. He made his acting debut in Derailed (2002) and went on to star in Jean-Claude Van Damme’s Universal Soldier: Regeneration (2009) and Soldiers (2014). For the first time, he received credit as a writer in Van Damme’s martial arts epic film The Tower (2010).
