Diana Ross & Tracee Ellis Ross

 

Diana Ross pursued a career in singing when she was just fifteen, after joining the band Primettes. They later received an invitation to do an audition with Motown Records. The executives were impressed by their vocals but decided that they were too young. They did eventually come back with a new name called Supremes. Ross also pursued a career in acting, which her daughter, Tracee Ellis, picked up.

Tracee Ellis did some modeling during her younger years which was quite different from what her mother pursued back in her days, then got a degree in Theater at Brown University. She worked as a fashion editor for New York Magazine and later appeared on film for Far Harbor, and her performance gotten more roles for her, which helped build her career. Her acting in Girlfriends was what propelled her to the limelight.
