53. Brooke Shields & Andre Agassi

The actress Brooke Shields married tennis player Andre Agassi in 1997. The two had been in a relationship for four years by the time they got married. Sadly, the two parted ways after two years of marriage. In an interview on The Today Show, Agassi talked about their relationship, stating that he wasn’t in a place where he could be married to anyone. He added that he didn’t understand himself at the time, which led to the downfall of their relationship.

In her memoir, Shields talked about how Agassi was the first man who had ever swept her away. She added that their relationship was “so necessary.” She also recalled an agonizing conversation she had with Agassi during their own legal separation proceedings and encouraged other spouses to be aware and vigilant of the complexities when ending a marriage. Whether it’s lawyers or the division of assets, separating from a spouse can be painful. Despite how things ended for them, there is no bad blood between them.
