Uma Thurman’s famously known husband is Ethan Hawke, though the two have been separated since 2005. It looks like not everybody knows she was once married to a great actor himself, Gary Oldman. The two tied the knot in 1990 and ended things after just two years, thanks to their lawyers.

If you envy her romance with the actor, think again—she called it a “mistake.” Thurman revealed they met when she was only 18 years old, while Oldman was already 30, making him 12 years her senior. The actress described their romance as a “crazy love affair” that needed to end. The Harry Potter star was her first love, and she had no prior experience. Thurman couldn’t deny, though, that Oldman is “truly” an excellent star. Well, the 63-year-old filmmaker wouldn’t be called one of the greatest actors of his generation for nothing.
